Pastor Tenisia Evans, is the Administrative Pastor of Divine Restoration Ministries. She is a dedicated young woman committed to service in the Spirit of Excellence. This virtue is one that she eschews well and imparts to all who will receive. Pastor Evans serves as the Business Administrator, with a keen eye for details and a mind for business.
She is the wife of Senior Pastor, Bishop. J. Richard Evans, Sr., the mother of five children, and the proud Gi-Gi to five beautiful grandbabies.
Pastor Evans joined her husband in ministry in 1998 when Divine Restoration Ministries was birthed. She served faithfully under Bishop David E. Martin in the Rhema Fellowship of Churches out of Dallas, TX. In 2008, she and Bishop Evans aligned themselves with the Greater Works of Christ Fellowship under Apostle Wayne T. Jackson in Detroit, MI. In January of 2015, she was elevated to the Apostolic office of Pastor.
Her commitment to assist in the restoration of broken lives has yielded much fruit. She has taken on the Women’s Ministry, mentoring and mothering young, single, mature, and married women giving the Body of Christ the example of what a godly woman should be. The Women’s Ministry evolved into Beauty For Ashes after the Lord brought her through a period of prolonged sickness, baffling doctors and defying every diagnosis, when He literally brought her back to life.
Outside of the church walls, Pastor Evans along with her husband, have sought to assist young parents by adopting first, Charles Vincent Continuing Education Center for Teen Moms, and then Catherine Ferguson Academy. Each year at Christmas time, a select number of girls are given Christmas bundles based on need.
In addition to these things Pastor Evans is a businesswoman. A joint-venture with her husband, resulted in the unique operation – J. Richard Optical, the only African-American, Christian owned and operated, optical shop in the state of MI, blending optometry, accessories, and apparel. Entrepreneurs, the Evans’ also use their businesses to empower students, displaced workers, and mothers re-entering the workforce with the skills and the revenue needed to be able to compete in today’s job market. J. Richard Optical, J. Richard’s Hair Emporium, Divine Children of Destiny Daycare, and most recently Praying Hands Christian Supply House have opened the door of opportunity and given people hope where there was none. She is the proprietor of Divine Children of Destiny Learning Center, which offers employment to women who are making the transition back into the workforce and provides a safe haven for busy, working parents and guardians.
In the fall of 2017, Pastor Tenisia Evans launched, Girl Boss Fashions Beauty Bar & Boutique, a full service salon and upscale clothing boutique. In the Spring of 2018, she opened her second location in Lakeside Mall, as a venue for clothing, t-shirts and accessories. Beyond a business opportunity, Pastor Evans uses her businesses as a way to minister to women from all walks of life, regardless of their size or color.
Pastor Evans is also a diligent student, having recently completed an Associates in Business Administration and a Bachelors of Science degree in Information Technology, she is currently pursuing a degree in Early Childhood Education. She implements Phil. 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.” in her daily life by simply saying, “We can do this thing!” Surely, greatness lies in the very near future for one who has literally given their life for the Master.
